At the beginning of the 21st century, a new scientific paradigm has developed. Overcoming the classical Newtonian conception of an objective predetermined reality, independent of any semiotic agency, this paradigm suggests that living beings endowed with self-consciousness are the space-time intrepretants of the quantum information given by the genetic code and by a superposed linguistic code. Extending this semiotic hierarchy to non-living beings, this essay aims to highlight the transfer of information from microscopic quantum entities to macroscopic relativistic frames in a hierarchy of space-time interpretants that unfolds the meaning of quantum information in cosmic evolution.
